Particular Passages - Out for the Season

Particular Passages - Out for the Season is a new anthology coming out in December… I’ve a short story in this new anthology, which is now available for pre-order in a variety of epub formats. The publisher is still working on the print edition, which should be able for pre-order shortly, too..

I learned about the opportunity to be a part of Particular Passages - Out for the Season, when I was at a conference and overheard the publisher lamenting that he didn’t have enough dark Christmas stories. I joked about a rather awkward situation that had happened to me as a kid and my father’s novel solution. The publisher burst out laughing, “Now, if you can make that into a dark speculative fiction story I’d buy it.”

I wrote the story between flights on the way back from the conference… and he kept his word. Warning, though, these stories are really “Out for the season,” meaning they have a dark side. So, if you’’re looking for short stories to read with a dark bend and holiday themes, Particular Passages - Out for the Season is for you.

In other news, I was recently at Capclave in Rockville, Maryland and enjoyed the networking and panels. I particularly appreciated one on creating audiobooks through Audible. Currently, none of my twenty novels are available in audio, so this is something I often think about. The presentation made the process seem much more doable, so… I’d appreciate feedback on whether you’d like any of my books available through Audible or whether I should be looking at other options that better meet your audio listening needs..

What’s coming… I’ll be at Philcon in November. Also, the second printings of Knight of the Broken Table and Changling Knight, the first two books in the Knights Tower Series, with their new covers (though, Changling’s modifications are modest compared to KOBT’s) are in process. Those printings will be leading up to the release of book three, Knight’s Blood, tentatively scheduled for December at this point. However, I may be taking another approach to launching that book, so… stay tuned.

On my writing progress—I’m midway through finishing writing the sequel to Lessers Not Losers in my Bred in Captivity Series. Children of a Lesser Dragon is a lot of fun to write, but life interrupted—and I found myself working on the sequel to Bigfoot Hunting. There are times, my friends, when a story just demands some attention and, I just love my Apocalypse Knot Series. I promise, I’ll get my project priorities back in line soon—if the characters stop whispering to me, that is…

Lastly, a favor to ask. If you’ve appreciated reading my novels, please consider leaving a review on Amazon or Goodreads. Rating one of my books would be appreciated, too. My hope is to have new reviews for Knight of the Broken Table before the release of Knight’s Blood. Thank you for reading my stories!
